Art: Lauren McLaughlin

Mrs. Lauren McLaughlin is privileged to teach at the school she attended kindergarten through eighth grade. She started at Saint Paul’s in February 2010 as the first and second grade teacher and moved onto teaching third and fourth grade the next 5 years. She is currently teaching art one day a week so she can be home with her children. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SIU Edwardsville in 2009. Mrs. McLaughlin lives in Breese with her husband, Colin. They have a son, Maverick, age 3, and a daughter, Mirin, age 2. Mrs. McLaughlin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and traveling. “As a student at Saint Paul’s, my dream job was to teach here one day and I am blessed to have that opportunity now. My parents joined Saint Paul’s Church when I was two years old. They made the decision to send my sisters and me through Saint Paul’s School. I am grateful for the chance to have grown up in such a caring environment where I was challenged academically, nurtured spiritually, and formed lifelong friendships with the families of Saint Paul’s. I
think what I value most about teaching here is the deep and lasting relationships I have formed. My relationships- with Christ, with my moms’ Bible study group, with my students, coworkers, and families past and present- have a deeper sense of intimacy because
of the faith that we share. What a feeling to know you are supported and cared for, lifted up in prayer, and a part of a “family” with so much to offer the community within our doors and beyond!
