Grades 5th / 6th: Ida Doyle

I was raised in Palmyra, Missouri where I attended Zion Lutheran School from kindergarten through the 8th grade. I was confirmed at Zion. I graduated from Palmyra High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with a concentration in Child Development, from Northeast Missouri State University, now known as Truman State University, in Kirksville, Missouri.
I married Steve Doyle, and we moved to Mt Pleasant Iowa for his job. After a year, we moved to LeGrand, Iowa. We spent 14 years there and were blessed with two children, Jacob and Sarah. I was a stay at home mom for a time while our children were small. I returned to work part time as Director/ Teacher at Wee Friends Preschool in LeGrand. I also worked as a substitute teacher for the local school district. We attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshallltown, Iowa.
We later moved to Troy and I have been teaching 5th and 6th grade since that time. Both of our children were confirmed and married at Saint Pauls and graduated from Saint Pauls. The time here has been a blessing to our family, and I value the time I have been allowed to serve here.
Spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading and most recently, being “Grandma Ida” to Lucy Anna and Zach, fill my spare time. I look forward to seeing what God has planned for both St. Paul’s and me in the future.
