Memory work this week for third and fourth grade: Ephesians 6:2-3. Found in religion book on page 179.
Third grade will be reading Two Bear Cubs. Our vocabulary strategy is going to be the prefixes pre-, re-, and bi-. The main skill this week will be story structure. The third grade will take a reading test Friday with questions about the vocabulary strategy, story structure, and Two Bear Cubs.
This week, fourth grade will be reading Harvesting Hope. Our vocabulary strategy this week will be reference materials. Our main skill is going to be conclusions and generalizations. The fourth grade will take a reading test Friday with questions about the vocabulary strategy, conclusions and generalizations, and Harvesting Hope.
The next math test for third grade will be Monday, April 24. The rest of the week we will learn about finding square roots of perfect squares, finding the length of a side of square when given the area, adding money amounts in decimals, reading and showing temperature on a Celsius scale, and identifying number days in a year and each month. KEEP STUDYING ALL OF THE ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION FACTS!
Fourth grade will also have their next math test on Monday, April 24. The rest of the week we will learn about estimating perimeter, area, and volume, reducing fractions, multiplying a 3 digit by 2 digit number, and simplifying fraction answers. KEEP STUDYING MULTIPLICATION FACTS!
Chapter 7 part B test will be Tuesday, April 25. We will review for part B on Monday. The rest of the week will start to dig into chapter 8 and learn about object pronouns.
This week in science we will continue to learn about the outer planets in our solar system. We will also start to learn about motions of Earth and the moon. We will complete the chapter 11 study guide on Wednesday. The chapter 11 science test will be Thursday, May 4.
We will continue to learn about the Plains states and what the early days were like on the interior plains for this week in social studies.
Third and fourth grade spelling lists will come home Monday. Everyone will take their spelling test Friday.
