Memory work this week for third and fourth grade: Books of the Bible: Isaiah – Malachi.
Third grade will be reading The Albertosaurus Mystery. Our vocabulary strategy is going to be the suffix -ly. The main skill will be conclusions. The third grade will take a reading test Friday with questions about the vocabulary strategy, conclusions, and Albertosaurus Mystery.
This week, fourth grade will be reading The Right Dog for the Job. Our vocabulary strategy will be the suffixes –ion, -ation, and –ition. Our main skill is going to be sequence of events. The fourth grade will take a reading test Friday with questions about the vocabulary strategy, sequence of events, and The Right Dog for the Job.
The third grade will be learning about writing a fraction to show a part of a whole, 5 & 6 subtraction facts, roman numerals to 31, adding three-digit numbers, and identifying ordinal position. KEEP STUDYING ALL OF THE ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION FACTS!
Fourth grade will learn about tables and schedules, tenths and hundredths on a number line, fractions that are equal to 1 and ½, changing improper fractions to whole or mixed numbers, and dividing by 10. KEEP STUDYING MULTIPLICATION FACTS!
This week in English we will be starting chapter 7. We will learn about direct objects, verb transitive, sentence pattern number 2, simple verb tenses, regular and irregular verbs, and helping verb tenses.
On Monday this week in science, we will be conducting an experiment to find out where it is warmer on the globe. The rest of the week, we will finish chapter 10 learning about how climate changes. The chapter 10 test will be April 7.
We will continue discussing the Great Lakes region this week in social studies. We’ll finish learning about transportation of that region and will start learning about rivers around the world. We will fill out the chapter 8 study guide this week. The West region map pretest is on Monday, April 10 and test on Tuesday, April 11. Chapter 8 social studies test will be April 20.
Spelling words will come home on Monday. The students will take their tests on Friday.
