Week 26 Newsletter – Sent Home 1/10


Memory work this week for third and fourth grade: 1 Thessalonians 5: 12-13. Religion book page 137.


We are still continuing our reading groups. We are enjoying getting to read in a group and work with each other to complete the worksheets. When we finish reading our chapter books, we will work together in our groups to complete a comprehension test over the whole chapter book. The books are not able to be taken home. NO READING TEST ON FRIDAY.


Third grade will be learning about lines of symmetry, writing division problems three ways, dividing by 10, 7, and 1, quotients, subtraction facts, and measuring with cups, tablespoons, and teaspoons. KEEP WORKING HARD TO STUDY FACTS!

Fourth grade will learn about tessellations, sales tax, decimal numbers to thousandths, and multiplying by 10, 100, and 1000. KEEP STUDYING X’s FACTS!!


We will be starting a new chapter in our English book this week, chapter 6. We’ll be learning about interjections, possessive nouns, clauses & subordinate conjunctions, and complex sentences.


This week in science we will start to learn about nonrenewable resources. On Monday afternoon, we will be having a visitor come from the Madison County Agriculture Organization speak to us about their agriculture program.


Chapter 6 test will be Wednesday, February 15. The rest of the week we will start learning about the South Central states. We will discuss the people that settled into the South Central region.


Spelling words will come home on Monday. The students will take their tests on Friday.
