Beginning the School Year

Good Afternoon Parents!

Some of you I meet at the back to school night this past Wednesday and some of you were unable to make it, but that is okay! I am going to go over a few things right now.

Those of you that were unable to make it, your child will be bringing home important papers that I handed out Wednesday night (my parent handbook, parent survey, etc.) so please be on the look out for those. Your child will need to bring all of his/her school supplies on Monday. You are welcome to walk your child to the classroom but please make the visit short. We have eighteen students this year so this classroom gets full very quickly.

As your child’s teacher I will be teaching him/her reading, English, math, science, social studies, and P.E. Pastor will be coming in to teach religion one day a week and I will teach religion the other four days. Mrs. Reese will be coming into the classroom to teach music and we will see Mrs. McLaughlin in the gym for art. This week, we will be having chapel on Monday at 8:30. Starting next week, chapel will be on Wednesdays at 8:30. I mentioned at the back to school night that we will have a daily snack this year. It will be after morning recess and I ask that your child’s snack stay as healthy as possible. However, we have a student that is HIGHLY allergic to nuts. Please DO NOT bring anything that contains nuts, especially peanuts and ALL treenuts. I would like to have a NUT-FREE CLASSROOM. This also goes for birthday snacks and holiday party snacks. If you are unaware if the snack contains nuts please contact me before bringing it into the classroom.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year in third and fourth grade as well as getting to know each of my students. If you happen to have any questions or concerns that pop up at any time during the year please contact me. This email will be the best way to do that.

I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Miss Moore
